Posted by webanalyticshungary on October 9, 2009

We have just had our very first Web Analytics Wednesday meetup in the heart of Budapest (Doblo Winery) and the number of people excited by the web analytics topics was surprisingly high! We’ve had more than 60 registered people, and approx. 45 flesh and blood (and wine) participants.

Web Analytics Wednesday - Budapest, HungaryThe program was as follows

5:45 – 6:00 participants arrive (get name badge stickers & free wine coupons), final check on web analytics
presentations (format compatibility), hello-hello, schmooze

6:00 – 6:30  (networking)
6:30 – 6:33 – welcome greetings

6:35 – 6:45 Top 10 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started in Web Analytics (June Dershewitz – SEMPhonic, WAA)
6:45 – 6:55 Free does not mean Bad in web analytics tools (Emer Kirrane – Yahoo! Web Analytics)
6:55 – 7:05 User profiling on-the-fly (Benedek Toth – Efficenter)
7:05 – 7:15 Google Analytics API & Open Source Analytics Tools (Andras Barthazi – Wish Consulting)
7:15 – 7:25 Coupon marketing & optimization (Anna Sebestyen – Distinct Dialogs marketing agency)
7:35 – 9:00 free rein conversation, discussion, any other analytics Q&A
9:00 – ending Web Analytics Wednesday Budapest

The format of the presentations was similar to what NewTech Meetup Hungary uses: 5 x 5 min presentations followed by Q&A (5 min), and the opportunity to discuss topics in more details after the presentations. In order to make the event truly international reaching through the borders of Hungary, all presenters were making their short speeches in English (plus we had two native speakers as presenters, Emer from Ireland and June from the US).
